Tie Dye For

Tie Dye Shorts - DIY
Black Cami Top - Topshop
Black Sheer Jacket - Missguided
Peace Layered Necklace - Topshop
Black Cut Out Boots - Miss Selfridge

I mentioned in my last post that I was doing a little tie dye project, and if all went well I would show you this week. Wellll TA DA! I'm so pleased with how my shorts have come out. I did a bit of research on different methods of tie dye, and my favourite outcome was from a method called ice dyeing. Basically all you do is soak your fabric for 15 minutes and then scrunch it up and pile on lots of ice, before sprinkling on your powder dye. Leave the ice to melt and that's it! I decided to make some super high-waisted shorts with my fabric as I thought they would be perfect for summer days. They have been a dream to wear today with the beautiful weather we are having. I teamed them with an abundance of black (once again) and my peace layered necklaces to add to the hippy feel. I've included a little step by step picture diary below, but if you have any questions feel free to ask. I now want to dye everything! Haha.

Hope you are all having a great week!

Inspire Me: Tie Dye For

All images found on pinterest

With festival season well and truly upon us, it's time to dig out that old white-turned-grey tee and give it a makeover. I've been working on a little project as of late, involving a bit of the good ol' tie dye. Now I won't forgo into details, as it's still in progress and my part is over and done with. Although it did get me thinking of ways to wear tie dye. I did a bit of pinterest searching (as always) and came across the above images for a bit of inspiration. I've also decided to do my own bit of dying which I have just set up. If it goes well, then I might just show you next week ha ha.

You may have noticed my new URL and a bit of a spruced up blog. I decided to change my blog name to something a bit more descriptive and easier to remember. When I started my blog, I just went with my full first name as 1. I knew no one would have it, 2. I thought it would be a bit different and 3. I thought I could change it at a later stage. After blogging for about 5 months, I thought now was the later stage ha ha. I think 'Thread of Style' is more descriptive of me, with my love for stitching and my love for styling. With that in mind, I am hoping to include a lot more of my sewing projects on here, while still keeping the outfit posts ongoing. One thing I didn't realise when I changed my URL last night, is that I would loose my bloglovin' followers. If you were following me before, or fancy following me now then click here to do so.

I hope you are all having a lovely lazy Sunday.

Dark Blooms

Floral Shirt Dress - Topshop
Black Waffle Knit - Topshop
Black Cut Out Boots - Miss Selfridge
Gold Heart Necklace - Miss Selfridge
Black Croc Bag - Charity Shop
Gold Rings - Etsy

Apologies for the lack of blogging this week. After a couple of weeks of having pre-photographed outfits, getting back into the swing of blogging was a bit of a struggle. I really didn't want to go back to photographing against my grey bedroom wall, so I decided to rope my Mom into the situation. Now, she is literally the worst photographer in the world, so in order to help her out (and myself) I thought she could practise her photography skills and gain a few tips from me, whilst taking my outfit posts ha ha. Let me know what you think of the photos, I think she didn't pretty well for her first go.

My wardrobe is literally all over the place at the moment - a big sort out is definitely needed. Both my jumper and dress are super old. Sometimes when I don't wear something for so long, I forget it was even in my wardrobe and it kind of becomes new again. Clearly bypassing the obvious wear on my jumper. With the weather so up and down it didn't seem quite right to not add a vast amount of black to the mix. Maybe one day I'll be able to rock a bit of colour.

I hope you've had a great week - TGIF!

Copenhagen: Stripe Hype

Stripe Crop Jumper - Topshop
High Neck White Top - Topshop
Quilted Studded Leather Skirt - Topshop
Burgundy Jewel Necklace - Forever 21
Black Cut Out Boots - Miss Selfridge
Black Croc Bag - Charity Shop

Welcome to the final instalment of my Copenhagen style diary. We'll bypass Sunday as we didn't take any blog photos, but on Monday we headed to an aquarium which opened pretty recently. The Blue Planet was suggested to us by an array of Danish people, and we were told a day wasn't enough. I wasn't massively fussed about going, but my boyfriend promised we could go shopping after, so I quickly agreed haha. It was actually really good and had loads of different types of undersea inhabitants, like hammerhead sharks, stingrays, piraƱas, jellyfish, clown fish, and the list goes on. We then headed into central Copenhagen to explore the shops. I was dying to go to & Other Stories, having opened in London a couple of months ago, I hadn't had a chance to go and check it out. After admiring everything on their website, I couldn't wait to have a look round the Copenhagen store. I bought a few little accessories, but could have quite happily stayed in there all day long. We finished the day off with a lovely dinner outside and enjoyed some yummy chocolate covered churros in the late day sun.

Still in love with cropped jumpers, I actually bought this one on the Sunday from Topshop. It was in the sale for about £13 so I couldn't resist. I could almost hear my mom saying "You went all the way to Denmark and you bought a jumper from Topshop" but it was too much of a bargain to pass up. Teamed with my trusty black leather skirt which I got a couple of years ago, I went through a stage of obsessing over leather skirts and bought about 4 in week (excessive I know) this one was my last in my string of leather skirt purchases and is definitely still my favourite. I added my burgundy jewel necklace for a little colour and was still rocking my £3 bag at the end of our trip.

I hope you've enjoyed my style diary!

Copenhagen: Tee Time

Joni Jeans - Topshop
White T-shirt - Zara
Nude Flats - Office
Black Croc Bag - Charity Shop
Dainty Beaded Bracelet - Buvy
Gold Bracelet - Gift

After a heavy night on Friday, we spent Saturday morning sleeping and attempting to recover. Once we had regained some kind of consciousness we decided to jump on the boat bus and head to a small town called Christiania. Described as a collectively run hippie town, Christiania was founded in 1971 and the locals have developed their own set of rules, independent from the Danish government. It was full of people selling and smoking a certain plant - there was even a bakery haha. It was a pretty cool little town, with an array of handmade craft stalls, happy people, and brightly coloured buildings. We were unfortunately not allowed to take photos in the main area - as that is one of the rules in Christiania. We got to the section where we were allowed, and took a few pictures and settled next to a beautiful river to enjoy the sunshine in our hungover state.

I went for a super easy throw on outfit - my joni jeans are getting there wear aren't they. I teamed them with my new zara tee (I have absolutely no idea what it says, I think it might be French?) and my office flats for ease and comfort. Sometimes you just need an easy jeans and t-shirt outfit and this was one of those days. We are almost coming to the end of my Copenhagen style diary with only one more outfit left to post. I hope you've been enjoying it - it's been a great way for me to relive it.

I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather!

Inspire Me: Coated In Summer

All photos found on pinterest

When in a new city I like to keep an eye on what people are wearing. While in Copenhagen I noticed a lot of stylish young ladies sporting summer coats. Be it a blazer, a trench or a parka - all were light in weight and light in colour. What I really love is the juxtaposition between the length of the outfit to the length of your throw over. High-waisted denim cut offs and a midi length coat is as wonderful a combination as chocolate and strawberries.

I hope you are all having an amazing sunny Sunday.
